Episode 21 - Asking the Question in Plain Sight

It's been an awfully long time, but we're finally back!

After a series of technical problems and general laziness, we have returned to ask the question: "Doctor Who?"

Dwight Tejano, Rob "Tek" Piontek, Sean Sorensen, Kevin Tracy, and our friend and guest, Erin Guerrera discuss the recently-completed 7th season of Doctor Who.  Did the Ponds get a good departure?  What do we think of the sassy Clara Oswald?  And, with the 50th anniversary only months away, what do we expect/want to see?

It's a celebration in The Name of the Doctor, and you've got this level of awesome on the Fridgecast!

SDCC 2012: Jon Armstrong and Mike Costa take us Behind the "Smoke and Mirrors"

What do you get when you cross comic books with legerdemain?  Something pretty amazing, as it turns out.

Magician Jon Armstrong (Chairman of the Board of Trustees at the Magic Castle) and comic scribe Mike Costa (G.I. Joe: Cobra, Blackhawks) team up with artist Ryan Browne to bring us Smoke and Mirrors, a creator-owned comic published by IDW.

Smoke and Mirrors follows the story of Terry Ward, a sleight-of-hand magician, who finds himself suddenly transported to a world where magic is real and is the basis of all technology.  A young boy named Ethan discovers his tricks and is instantly enamoured, but others are far more wary of the man performing unexplainable magic.

Check out our interview with co-creators Armstrong and Costa:

Smoke and Mirrors #1-4 are available now from your favorite comics retailer and digitally via Comixology, with the concluding issue slated for release very soon.  A trade paperback is due in September.  Seriously, you should check it out - the trick in the first issue will blow your mind.
