The furor over the ending of Mass Effect 3 has died down (mercifully), as BioWare works on their extended ending due out later this year. While we wait for a few answers to a few nagging questions, the developers want to keep us invested in the battle for sentient life by enticing us with more free multiplayer-focused DLC.
The “Rebellion Pack,” like the “Resurgence Pack” before it, adds two new maps and six new characters to the Galaxy at War, as well as few other surprises, including a new mission during the objective waves (hallelujah!) Here’s the full list:
- “Firebase Jade,” on the Salarian homeworld, Sur’Kesh
- “Firebase Goddess,” located on the Reaper-torn Asari homeworld, Thessia
- Ex-Cerberus Adept/Vanguard
- Vorcha Soldier/Sentinel
- Quarian Male Engineer/Infiltrator
- Cerberus Harrier
- Krysae Sniper Rifle
- Reegar Carbine
New Mission Objective: Escort a high-priority package to the extraction zone for pickup from Alliance forces.
New Gear Slot: Equip gear in a new persistent equip slot to offer a non-expiring gameplay bonus (in addition to the consumable bonuses as before.)
If you’ve stepped away from the Galaxy at War (as I have), this sounds like a great way to get back in.
The Mass Effect 3: Rebellion Pack will be available for download on May 29 on the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC (via Origin) for the welcome cost of zero dollars.
