Arkham Takes Gotham in ‘Batman: Arkham City’

My inaugural post back from my month of traveling opens to some pretty fun news.  The anticipated sequel to Rocksteady’s Batman: Arkham Asylum, the “most critically acclaimed superhero game ever,” has finally been given a name:  Batman: Arkham City.

The vague snippet of a teaser that debuted at the 2009 VGAs showed Bruce Wayne’s beloved Gotham going to the madhouse — but with this revealed title, it seems that the madhouse made its way to Gotham.  (See what I did there?)

“Heavily fortified” and in a “sprawling district in the heart of Gotham City,” Batman: Arkham City weaves an all-new tale of the Caped Crusader, as he enforces his righteous, knuckle-y vengeance in “the new maximum security ‘home’ for all of Gotham City’s thugs, gangsters and insane criminal masterminds.”  No doubt we will see more than a few familiar faces from the Batman universe wreaking havoc in the streets.  Here’s hoping we get a little Ra’s Al Ghul action.

The game is slated to release on the Xbox 360, the PlayStation 3, and the PC next fall.
