Minimalist Video Game Character Posters are Awesome

Requiescat in Pace.

Late last year, artist Ashley Browning posted a Videogame Minimalism art portfolio on flickr.  Lauded for its elegant simplicity, Browning used the simple, yet distinctive facial features from some of our favorite video game characters to create the immediately recognizable images.

Following in the same style, artist Justin Russo adds his own flavor using the recognizable costume designs from games of the past couple years.  Russo also adds a quote from the character being depicted, which adds a surprising bit of poignancy to the minimalist images.  Check out Justin’s full treatment of our beloved video game characters here.  I trust I’m not the only hoping he does a few more.
