By now, most of you have probably seen Syyn Labs‘ ornate Rube Goldberg Machine in OK Go‘s most recent music video, “This Too Shall Pass.” (In case you haven’t, check it out here.) As the nearly four minute video ended, did you, like me, sit there wondering what type of planning and work was required to bring about that kind of precision in execution? Well, you weren’t the only one, and thankfully someone took the time to (quickly) explain it.
At a recent Ignite event in Los Angeles, Adam Sadowsky, president of Syyn Labs, shares it all: the mentality behind RGMs, the evolution of the machine, the failure of planning, and the months of work. It’s a great video for the engineer in all of us and, due to the nature of Ignite, is thankfully short and sweet. Check it out.
