Dreams come true: Grant Gustin and Melissa Benoist will share the limelight on the March 28 episode of “Supergirl” on CBS!
Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg, executive producers of both “The Flash” and “Supergirl” stated:
We are so incredibly excited to announce something that we have dreamed of happening since we started making ‘Supergirl’ – The Flash and Supergirl are teaming up! We want to thank Grant Gustin for making the time to come visit (on top of his already immense workload) and all of the folks at CBS, The CW, Warner Bros. and DC for working this out. And finally thanks to the fans and journalists who have kept asking for this to happen. It is our pleasure and hope to create an episode worthy of everyone’s enthusiasm and support.
No plot details have been announced explaining what brings Barry Allen to Kara Danvers’ adopted hometown (although I’m guessing that there’s a speed force dimensional travel involved) , but the episode is entitled “Worlds Finest,” as shown on Gustin’s Instagram feed:
The lack of an apostrophe in “Worlds” is, I’m sure, intentional and not meant as an attempt to make my editor senses twitch.
In any event, this marks precedent not just for crossovers between shows, but crossovers between networks. The mind reels at the possibilities…
