NYCC 2013: “Batman: Arkham Origins” Preview!

We’re no stranger to the “Arkham” series of games around here.  We were hooked way back in 2009 when Batman: Arkham Asylum first introduced us to freeflow combat and overhang takedowns.  With two excellent games come and gone, how will the third one, Batman: Arkham Origins, stack up?

Coincidentally wearing the same shirt, Tek and I took a few minutes to talk with the cast and crew of the upcoming game to see what they have to say about this prequel to the “Arkham” franchise.

First, we talk with the new voice of Joker (and the best dressed man at the con), Troy Baker, about his take on the Clown Prince of Crime after Mark Hamill.  Next, we chat with our newest Batman, Roger Craig Smith, about his legacy playing a 15th century Batman in the Assassin’s Creed games and his process in donning the cowl (figuratively speaking.)  Lastly, we talk with game director Eric Holmes about this newest entry into the “Arkham” series and how they want to differentiate themselves from the previous games and still honor that work.

Batman: Arkham Origins is out this Friday, October 25 for the Xbox 360, PS3, PC, Wii U, PS Vita, and 3DS.
