Michael Giacchino Responds to ‘Captain America’ Rumors

This past week has been aflutter with wild speculation about who is composing the music to the highly anticipated Joe Johnston-helmed Captain America: The First Avenger.  Michael Giacchino’s (Lost, Star Trek) name immediately rose to the top of the guessing game creating frenzy among his fans in the niche film music stratosphere.  His name even appears as the composer credit on the unreliable Internet Movie Database.

Unfortunately Giacchino’s involvement in the project is just that… speculation.  The Maestro released this statement this morning regarding Captain America:

“I have always been a fan of the Captain America character – but at this moment I am not scoring the film.”

As with anything in Hollywood, this news could change by dinnertime.  Joe Johnston has previously worked with James Horner, Danny Elfman, James Newton Howard, Mark Isham and Don Davis.

Rob is excited to be contributing to The Fridge. With one finger on the pulse of Marvel/DC and another on that of Hollywood’s superhero franchises, no multi-issue arc or casting rumor is too small to report. When Rob opens The Fridge, the light inside shines green!
