“The Walking Dead” Sizzle Reel

AMC has just released a behind-the-scenes sizzle reel for its upcoming television adaptation of Robert Kirkman’s The Walking Dead.  Opening with a few words from the series’ creator (slumped underneath a pile of zombie bodies, of course), the video features a ton of new footage and some great insight from the cast (Jon Bernthal, Sarah Wayne Callies, Laurie Holden, Jeffrey DeMunn) and crew (director/executive produce Frank Darabont, executive producer Gale Ann Hurd, SFX Designer Greg Nicotero.)

AMC also released its plans for the show’s appearance at the upcoming New York Comic Con!  The network stated that it will premiere the first full scenes from the show in a panel scheduled for Sunday, 10/10 at 2:15 PM in the IGN Theater.  Moderated by IGN’s Eric Moro, the panel will host the creator, Robert Kirkman, executive producers, Frank Darabont and Gale Ann Hurd, and series stars, Andrew Lincoln, Jon Bernthal, Sarah Wayne Callies, Laurie Holden, and Steven Yeun.

If you’re going to be at the Jacob Javits Center that weekend (we at OTF certainly will be), you should definitely check them out!  For that matter, if you haven’t read the zombie apocalypse that is The Walking Dead, then you’ve got your homework cut out for you — the AMC series premieres on Halloween at 10 PM EST on AMC.
